Ubud
Ubud sits in the hills of central Bali, about an hour from the airport. It is cooler and greener than the coast, with rice terraces, rivers and temples around the town.
Villas here often face the jungle or rice fields and have infinity pools. Many guests come for yoga retreats, healthy food and a slower pace.
The beach is about an hour away. If you want both, split your stay between Ubud and the coast.
